Snow Predictioner In the Making!

You Be the Judge

Is it illegal to "smoke" broccoli?!

Bennett!

If you have been clicking on the button for Bennett then you know he is home! This precious family has endured 6 long months of having their miracle son in the hospital while also caring for their 3 adopted children (6 years and younger mind you) at home. Praise Jesus, Bennett is home! He truly is a miracle!

A friend of the family's is having a Bloggy Baby Shower for Bennett. The family has nearly 2000 followers, so this could be quite the shower and wonderful way to bless this family!

Fear Not

What does God want to do with me in 2011? I have been contemplating that for the last 12 days. 2011 actually got off to a great start! Two answers to prayer happened in the first 5 days of 2011. Sweet!

The bottom line...I don't want any regrets in 2011. Tall order? Yah, but I want to take some risks in 2011. No, not any scary risks such as jumping out of an airplane or deciding to buy a Subway franchise (yum though), but more like stepping out to try things I have always wanted to do, but was too afraid I would "fail" at it. I am good at "dreaming," but not so good at stepping out of the car. Sometimes, I feel like I live too safe. I have always been afraid of failing and worrying about what people will think and I let that stop me. With my mom's death in October, it really brought to the front of my mind that, "hey, you don't have forever here on earth and you know that list of things you have wanted to do..well, you better get to it!"

I have been blessed to be able to be home this year with Faith. It has not been easy financially and honestly that has brought a little stress cloud over my head that overshadows some of the joy of being home with Faith. Being home with Faith is a dream fulfilled for me. I have ALWAYS wanted to be a SAHM. Some girls dreamed of being doctors or lawyers, I wanted to be a mom and wife. Too bad they don't offer that as a degree in college. :) On one hand, I love teaching, but it really was my second choice. I know someday I will be back in the classroom, but right now I truly have no passion to be back there. My passion is trying to be the best mama and wife.

Ok back to scary things. :) Back in September I learned about an awesome ministry. I have not shared this with anyone else except Hubby. I talked to a few people who have started chapters in another state and got information about it and it is an amazing ministry opportunity. Then things with mom happened and then the holidays and I told myself I would just wait until January to revisit the opportunity. Well, it is the 12th day of January (will probably be the 13th day by the time this is posted!) and I have thought about it every day. It is scary folks. Starting this ministry is WAY out of my comfort zone. It would require me being a leader, an organizer, and finding companies/people to donate resources/time among other things. Even with all of that, I still have a passion for what God can do through this opportunity. Which leads me again to that place of not wanting to be stopped by fear or failure in 2011.

I am waiting for a burning bush. Can I pray for God to show me a burning bush if this is something He wants me to do?

This verse comes to mind: 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Do you have a stepping out in faith story? Please do share!

Snow Bunny!

Today was Faith's first time in the snow! She was intrigued by the whole experience. Faith also turned 8 months on the 4th...how did that happen...seriously?! :) Everyday I am just amazed at how she is growing and changing. This baby has come a long way. God has grown my love for her more than I can even explain. I am so in love with my baby! I now fully understand when people say they would run in front a car for their child. We still have our hard days, but most of our days are filled with such joy and thankfulness for our gift from God...our Faith (A.K.A. Boogie)!
